It was done: the passive
செயப்பாட்டுவினை
To say something “was done”, put the verb in its “to” form and add படு: எழுதப்பட்டது, it was written. The doer, if you mention them, takes -ஆல். The passive is common in writing and news; in conversation Tamil usually says who did it.
The Thirukkural was written by Thiruvalluvar.
The student was called by the teacher.
The letter was sent by mother.
This temple was built by a king.
