Building letters

உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துகள்

Every Tamil letter you read is built from two parts: a consonant without its vowel (க்) and a vowel (ஆ). Together they make கா. Pick a consonant and a vowel and watch where the vowel sign goes.

க்+ஆ=கா“kā”
ஆ → ◌ா · Long (neṭil) · நெடில்
The sign comes after the letter, on the right.
